Basic information about the Siemens SGT-200 turbine
The SGT-200 (formerly Tornado) is a Siemens industrial gas turbine with a capacity of 6.8/7.7 MW, on various types of fuel. The turbine is characterized by excellent reliability and an excellent weight-to-power ratio.
The SGT-200 turbine is a unique combination of proven reliability with new technologies. In December 1983, the manufacturer Ruston (now part of Siemens) was awarded the prestigious British MacRobert Award for the most promising innovations for the Tornado turbine.
The SGT-200 has fully justified the high confidence placed in it with millions of hours of effective operation. To date, more than 430 SGT-200 turbines have been sold. The total operating time of the delivered turbines is about 30 million equivalent hours.
The principle of operation
The air enters the filter and passes through the snail.
Through the guiding device, the air flow enters a 15-stage axial compressor, where the air is compressed with a ratio of 12.3:1.
The air-fuel mixture formed by mixing with the fuel is continuously burned, powering the turbine.
Hot gases are discharged through the exhaust system and can be used in a recovery boiler.
Configuration and application areas
The single-shaft version of the turbine is used for electric generation and cogeneration in simple and combined cycle installations; offshore and onshore facilities in the oil and gas industry.
The two-shaft version of the SGT-200 turbine is designed to power pumps and compressors, that is, to operate as a mechanical drive.
The turbine, auxiliary gearbox, control system and a tank with lubricating oil are placed on a steel turbine frame. The driven units, including the gearbox, are mounted on a separate frame that connects to the main one.

Advantages
High stability of operation
Cost-effectiveness
Low-emission combustion chamber for gas with a Dry Low Emissions (DLE) exhaust gas concentration reduction system
Unified lubrication system
Convenience of transportation and maintenance
SGT-200-1S single shaft turbine
The single-shaft version consists of a compressor, a combustion chamber and a turbine, as well as high-strength housings. This simple design allows for full turbine maintenance at the installation site. Excellent response to load changes ensures stability in all applications.
The two-shaft version includes both a high-pressure turbine (HDT) and a free turbine. The two-shaft design is characterized by the flexibility of regulating the main operating parameters of the turbine.
The Siemens SGT-200 turbine can run on both liquid and gaseous (including hydrogen) fuels, and dual-fuel combustion chamber operation is also available.
The compressor
15-stage transonic axial compressor. The blades of the stator and rotor are made of 17-PH steel. The compressor is equipped with a rotating diffuser. Compressor housings are divided both vertically and horizontally.
Combustion chamber
The combustion chamber consists of 8 countercurrent tubular chambers with cross ignition. Access to the cameras is carried out by dividing the housing. The camera can be removed by removing the burner. Thus, the dismantling is carried out without breaking any pipe connections.
The turbine
The nozzles and working blades of the first stage are air-cooled, which ensures the required operating time of 40,000 hours.
Power turbine
The design of the power turbine is similar to that of a theater of operations and consists of two stages of nozzle and working blades.
