The first of the requirements for modern gas turbines are reliability, economy and performance. One of these economic factors affecting performance is fuel delivery management. This is what determines the life of the turbine flow components, and especially the – nozzle and first stage operating voltage, since it is the logical and reliable operation of the fuel valves that determines the fuel flow rate and, as theory suggests, the temperature field at the combustion chamber outlet.
The main purpose of fuel valve adjustment is to provide constant control of the fuel supply to the combustion chamber. The control valve is the most common type of fuel regulator. The valve works by changing the flow rate of the medium through the passage section. This requires high accuracy of operation with high reliability.
The fuel valve is obliged to ensure continuous fuel supply to the chamber with constant flow rate and pressure, regardless of the parameters in the supply pipeline. Otherwise, the change of parameters leads to failure of the main gas turbine elements, because the change of fuel flow rate leads to temperature inclusion and uneven heating of separate parts of the hot contact part.
