The General Electric PGT25 gas turbine utilizes the best technology to meet the needs of a gas turbine in the 23 MW range with high efficiency, reliability and affordability, and low environmental impact. The PGT25 can operate on a wide range of both liquid and gas fuels. The PGT25 assembly makes extensive use of standardized, factory pre-tested components, which significantly reduces the time required at the assembly site.
Ease of maintenance is a key feature – the gas generator and low pressure turbine (cartridge) can be quickly and easily removed and replaced to minimize downtime. The General Electric PGT25 gas turbine is a simple cycle gas turbine consisting of an LM2500 gas generator combined with an industrial power turbine. The LM2500 has accumulated several million hours of operation in both aircraft engines and industrial applications (offshore and onshore gas transportation) as a mechanical and generator drive. The LM2500 has a 16-stage axial flow compressor capable of achieving a pressure ratio of 18:1.
Adjustable inlet guide apparatus and adjustable stator blades on the first six compressor stages ensure efficient operation throughout the entire power range. The power turbine components were developed based on General Electric extensive experience with industrial gas turbines and axial/centrifugal compressors. The aerodynamically profiled power turbine blades provide high efficiency throughout the required power range. The rotational speed of the medium-loaded, high-efficiency two-stage power turbine is 6500 rpm.
CEM GmbH supplies spare parts and provides maintenance and repair services for GE PGT25 turbines.
