The LM2500+G4 DLE gas turbine drive (RD-MGD) is a twin-shaft simple cycle gas turbine unit consisting of a gas generator (aircraft type) and a free power turbine. Power from the power turbine shaft is transferred to the turbine generator from the gas turbine side by means of a flexible coupling, the drive coupling, the shaft of which passes through a tunnel inside the exhaust manifold.

The gas generator consists of a compressor with rotating guide vanes, a single annular combustion chamber with a dry NOx and CO suppression system (DLE system), control devices and auxiliary equipment. The power turbine has a shaft speed of 3600 rpm, is a six-stage low-pressure turbine aerodynamically coupled to the gas generator, driven by the gas generator exhaust gases.

Cycle air inlet to GTU compressor is equipped with stainless steel mesh and nylon cover to protect the engine from damage by foreign objects. GTU is mounted on shockproof carriages and can be moved inside the container of the power unit.

The turbine is supplied in a special module – a noise-absorbing container, which provides noise reduction of the operating GTU to 85 dB(A) at rated load (at noise measurement at a distance of 1 m from the container and at a height of 1.5 m from the foundation level).
The container has forced ventilation – exhaust system for GTU cooling, with heated air discharge outside the engine room into the atmosphere. Ventilation (air outlet) is carried out by two electric fans equipped from above with mufflers with weather visors through special collectors and boxes.
All equipment placed in the GTU module has explosion-proof design. Methane concentration is monitored inside the module. Inside the container is equipped with an emergency lighting network with DC voltage of 125 V, provided with a battery and charger included in the delivery. A heater (electric heater) is installed inside the module to maintain the operating temperature regime.
