AUTOMATED PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEM (APCS)

Electromagnetic bearings (EMBs) are used in centrifugal compressors (CCs) for natural gas at gas extraction and transportation enterprises. The use of EMBs allows maintaining the rotor in a specified position relative to the stator solely through electromagnetic attraction forces. An EMB consists of an electromechanical part (electromagnets, backup bearings, etc.) and an automatic control system (ACS) that regulates the currents in the electromagnets, controlling the electromagnetic attraction force. CEM-GmbH is engaged in the development and implementation of ACS. Thanks to the fact that installing the system does not require changes to the compressor’s flow path or replacement of electromechanical units, EMBs can be used in centrifugal compressors of various designs and capacities.

AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR COMPRESSOR SHOPS

  • The ACS for compressor shops (ACS CS) is designed for automated monitoring and control of the pipeline fittings of the CS’s process piping, main and auxiliary technological objects, and general plant equipment of the CS with various types of gas pumping units for newly built and reconstructed compressor stations (CS) of main gas pipelines.
  • The ACS CS represents a distributed information and control system for technological and auxiliary objects of the CS, with the division of control and management functions between the ACS CS, the ACS GPU, and the local ACS of individual CS objects.
  • The ACS CS is intended to operate as part of an integrated automated process control system of the CS (APCS CS) and the information and control systems of gas transport enterprises (ICS GTE), ensuring interaction with the upper level through the enterprise’s local area network.

AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR MAIN PIPELINE GAS DISTRIBUTION STATIONS

Purpose:

  • Continuous automatic monitoring of technological parameters, implementation of protection functions, remote and automatic control of the main and auxiliary equipment of the gas distribution station (GDS), ensuring the supply of gas to consumers in the required quantity with specified parameters.
  • The ACS GDS is designed to function as part of the integrated automated process control system of the gas transport enterprise (APCS, ICS GTE), ensuring interaction with the dispatch center through the communication channels of the linear telemetry system or the industrial computer network.
  • The ACS GDS is a project-configurable product, the composition and number of functional devices of which are determined by the order in accordance with the configuration of the specific GDS.

AUTOMATIC AND CENTRALIZED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR OIL EXTRACTION, COLLECTION, PREPARATION FOR TRANSPORT, ACCOUNTING, SHIPMENT, AND PUMPING PROCESSES

  • The system is designed for automatic and centralized control of the processes involved in oil extraction, collection, preparation for transport, accounting, shipment, or pumping of oil from the field to the collection point. It performs a full range of informational, control, and service functions based on the use of radio communication channels.
  • The ACS for oil fields is a project-configurable system, with the composition and number of functional devices determined by the order in accordance with the configuration of specific fields – including the number of oil wells, booster pump stations, and gas distribution units (AGZU).

Design Features

  • Built-in alphanumeric functional displays in the local ACS cabinets allow, if necessary, the display of technological information and remote control of technological processes at the fields.
  • The ACS for oil fields ensures the interaction of local ACS with the field dispatcher’s workstation both in real-time mode (during the day) and in data accumulation (archiving) mode during the autonomous operation of the local ACS (at night), with subsequent transmission to the dispatch center for display and control.

AUTOMATIC AND CENTRALIZED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR ENSURING THE EFFECTIVE OPERATION OF A GAS COMPRESSION STATION

Purpose:

  • The ACS and KGS is designed to ensure the effective operation of a gas compression station by automating control, monitoring, diagnostics, and accounting functions (including the automation of the preparation of custom propane-butane mixtures, accounting for incoming and dispatched components and gas mixtures), as well as presenting information in a format convenient for operational personnel.
  • The ACS and KGS is a distributed information and control system for the technological objects of the gas compression station, with extensive use of intelligent sensors and actuators.
  • The system is a project-configurable product, with the composition and number of functional devices determined by the order in accordance with the capacity and configuration of the specific gas compression station.

Design Features

  • Capability for expanding functional capabilities during operation through the unification of hardware and software components.
  • Support for both one-way and two-way servicing of cabinet devices.
  • The system delivery package includes computer-controlled railway and automotive scales for automated control, accounting of incoming and dispatched products, and the operational preparation of accompanying documentation.

AUTOMATED CONTROL SYSTEM FOR GAS PUMPING UNIT

Purpose:

  • The ACS GPU is designed for automatic control, regulation, monitoring, and protection functions that ensure the safe and reliable operation of the gas pumping unit.
  • The ACS GPU integrates into the APCS of the compressor station (CS) and connects to the industrial network based on Ethernet using optical or copper communication lines.
  • The ACS GPU regulates the parameters of the unit and maintains the specified mode both directly through dispatcher settings and in conjunction with the ACS of the CS.
