General Electric Frame 9F.05 heavy-duty gas turbine unit (GTU) is one of the largest projects of General Electric Company.
Frame series was put into production in 1991 and every year underwent significant improvements in the process of modernization.
Frame 9F.05 is applied in various spheres: industrial enterprises, cogeneration plants, metal smelting plants.
There are more than 50 GTUs of this model installed in the world, which have worked 800 000 hours with 99% reliability.
When operating in the combined cycle, an efficiency of 60% is achieved.
The GTU is equipped with an 18-stage compressor with inlet guiding apparatus (IGA), which allows reducing the load and increasing the life cycle of parts, and intermediate air extraction allows achieving efficient cooling.
The DLN 2.6 combustion chamber can be operated with two types of fuel. Nitrogen oxide emissions do not exceed 25 ppm.
The 3-stage turbine has advanced cooling and sealing technologies. Through modifications, the life cycle of parts is extended to 32,000 hours.
Maintenance costs for the 9F.05 are among the lowest in the class.
Main technical characteristics of the 9F.05
- Rated power: 299 MW;
- EFFICIENCY: 38.7 %;
- NOx emission: 25 ppm;
- CO2 emission: 24 ppm.
