General Electric Frame 6FA gas turbine unit (GTU), recently changed its name to 6F.03, is a medium class unit designed in accordance with the modern “F-class” technology.
In Russia there are about 20 GTU Frame 6F.03.
This model has a large number of advantages, among which are:
- highest reliability;
- compactness;
- operation on different types of fuel;
- operation in difficult climatic conditions;
- operation in both basic and variable modes.
Technical specifications:
- Efficiency in simple cycle operation: 35%;
- Combined cycle efficiency: 54%;
- Electric power: 80 MW.
At designing of low-emission combustion chambers (CC) of GTU the main difficulty is realization of low emission of nitrogen oxides NOx. In view of the fact that NOx are formed at temperatures above ~1800 K and their volume grows proportionally to the temperature increase, the main methods of NOx reduction are in any case connected with combustion temperature reduction or with reduction of the number of high temperature regions.
Frame 6 FA GTU is equipped with DLN 2.6 CC. Due to the technology of emission reduction, the emission of NOx nitrogen oxides (avg. to 15% O2) is 15 ppm;

The main application area of Frame 6F.03 is power generation, heat supply of city districts and enterprises, industrial cogeneration.
